Face Steaming 101

Face Steaming 101

What is face steaming?

Using warm steam on your face to open pores to loosen dirt, oil and other build up for a deeper cleanse.

How often should you do it?

Only once per week. Although it's tempting to do it more often, it will do more harm than good.

How do you face steam?

I'll give you the hassle free way first. Get a small portable face steamer that is easy to move around and takes up little space. Use a small amount of filtered water in the steamer and steam for 5-10 min. If you rather do it the old school way, boil a pot of water and stand over the stove.

Who should face steam?

Anyone who wants to improve their skin should try face steaming. If you have very sensitive skin, rosacea or eczema, consult with a doctor as it could irritate your skin.

Benefits of Steaming:

-Cleanses your skin by opening up your pores to release dead skin cells, bacteria, dirt, and other nasty stuff that clog pores
-Helps release sebum trapped in your pores (great for oily skin types)
-Revives your skin through increasing blood flow & collagen promotion
-Skin is better able to absorb products after steam has cleansed and opened pores
-Gives your skin a healthy, natural glow
-Naturally moisturizes your skin from the warm steam
-Excellent for relaxation
-Helps with sinus congestion
-Softens blackheads for easier removal
