How to do an at home facial in less than a hour

Facials are essential but a professional one will cost you and can require more of your time. In just under an hour, you can do an entire facial in the comfort of your own home. Complete facials are recommended once a month.

Grab the items below and get started:

  • Gentle Cleanser
  • Gentle Exfoliator
  • Face Steamer or a good old pot with boiling water
  • Face Mask of Choice
  • Toner
  • Serums/Oils
  • Eye Cream
  • Face Moisturizer
  • Favorite self care playlist
  • Favorite candle

First, start your playlist and light your candle. Set the tone for you to relax your mind. Now let's get started. Wash your face for 30-60 seconds using a gentle cleanser.

Second, use a gentle exfoliating scrub to get rid of any dead skin and unclog your pores. Exfoliating will help brighten dull skin as well. Rinse your face.

Next, use your fingers to gently massage your face for 10 minutes. This helps increase the blood flow for healthier skin. Focus on all areas: forehead, temples, nose, cheeks, lips chin and your jawline.

My favorite part is the face steam. You can use a face steamer or you can boil a pot of water and put a towel over your head (no judgement). Face steam for about 7-8 minutes to open your pores and then wipe the excess water off your face with a cotton pad.

After the steaming, apply your face mask. The mask should be used to target your skin issues, ie oily skin, acne prone skin, dry skin, mature skin, dark spots. Leave the mask on for the appropriate time and then rinse off with warm water.

Once mask is removed/washed off, apply your favorite toner. This will help tighten pores and balance your skin. A toner will also help aid in protecting your skin as well from environmental contaminants. If you don’t use a toner, no big deal. Do what works for your skin.

Then, apply your face serum and/or face oil to nourish your skin. If you don’t have any, don’t feel bad. If your skin is thriving without them, why change what is working.

Don’t forget your eye cream. Now, you definitely need this one! The area around your eye is very delicate and needs extra love to rejuvenate skin.

Lastly, apply your face moisturizer. Now this is nonnegotiable. Your face needs moisture to promote healthy skin.

I hope you enjoyed this! Let me know below your favorite step!
